Using ChatGPT for Worship?
Ok. I thought I would give this a go.
I like a good prayer in my call to worship. I thought I would create one using ChatGPT.
I work within a congregation that sees itself as progressive, inclusive and diverse. so prompted CGPT accordingly. After a bit of nuancing the results I got this…
God calls us here, regardless of our abilities or disabilities,
Embracing our unique gifts and affirming our inherent worth.
God calls us here, regardless of our origins or ethnicity,
Welcoming us as members of one human family, bound by love.
God calls us here, regardless of our gender or sexual orientation,
Inviting us to be fully ourselves, embraced and accepted.
God calls us here, regardless of our age or socioeconomic status,
Recognizing that all are valued and cherished in God’s sight.
Let us lift our voices in joyful praise, as we celebrate the boundless love that gathers us together and unites us as one.
Amen.
It’s not the world’s greatest prayer… But it’s also not the worst. And its well structured, says what it needs to and is, surprisingly, human.
Is this wrong?
